Some Great Benefits Of Applying EnerSys Cyclon Batteries

By Nick Todd

The EnerSys (Hawker) Cyclon battery is a battery brand that employs pure lead sealed-cell technology that was first created in 1973 by the Gates Corporation. Technically, it is a valve-regulated lead-acid battery with a cylindrically-wound body that is produced from a grid that is made the purest possible lead and tin alloy. It is notable for being one of the few battery brands that use lead-acid technology.

The technology driving the Cyclon battery offers distinct, long term attributes and pros that make them superior over their rivals. They are displayed below:

1) Exceptional energy density and persistence - Cyclon technology permits the battery to produce more energy at lower costs than comparable reserve power generation items. It performs better when it's set discharge at higher rates and pulses within or under 100 minute energy generation intervals. Its greater volumetric capacity permits engineers and power generation makers to select better energy producing configurations and smaller, lightweight models.

2) Longer cycle life - An EnerSys (Hawker) Cyclon battery is capable of providing up to 300 cycles, at 100 percent depth of discharge (DOD). This is because of its pure lead design that enables it to perform at 50 to 200 percent greater full cyclical capacity; rival lead battery products, on the other hand, produce lesser capacities since they are only rated at around 200 complete cycles. Cyclon brand batteries are also equipped with a built-in venting feature that allows it to withstand high internal pressures, which protects them from "drying out" from repeated charging sessions.

3) Float or standby life -Cyclon batteries are dependable since they can be kept for extended periods and still can be readily employed. In comparison to plain sealed-lead battery products that are only viable from 3 years to 6 years (continually kept at 20C), Cyclon single-cell batteries may be used for up to 10 years at 25C, and 15 years at 20C.

4) High steady current output - Cyclon batteries produce high steady power because of their lower-than-usual internal resistance. This characteristic together with the batteries' decreased current discharge profile, resulting in the batteries being more efficient and totally prepared to discharge their save power. Their 100% lead style also enables these kinds of batteries to hand out more watts for every unit of their total weight at a persistantly high discharge rating.

5) Safer to operate - EnerSys (Hawker) Cyclon batteries, both single-cell and monobloc types, are known as secure and reliable even with continuous use. They solely give out small amounts of gas, or even nothing, since they were being charged the regular way. This means they are secure for medical centers, passenger aircraft compartments, offices, and other places where individuals usually congregate. They have even received the acknowledgement of Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

6) Able to operate under wide temperature ranges - A Cyclon battery is so constructed so that it enables to survive harsh weather conditions. At high temperature levels, the pure lead construction of the battery allows it to resist the chemical reactions that can cause deterioration in other types of batteries. The steel jacket or can construction and high-pressure vent of a Cyclon single-cell battery enables it to withstand the considerable lowering of internal pressure that occurs in standard lead batteries. Also, the Cyclon brand of batteries can deliver two times the rated capacity of their regular sealed-lead counterparts at freezing temperatures (around -20C and below), which makes them suitable for cold locales. Also, being made from thinner lead plating, they offer a wider surface reaction area than thicker plated batteries. This allows a Cyclon single-cell battery to charge faster - at around a fourth of the needed time - than ordinary sealed-lead battery products, resulting in about 50 to 100 percent better all-around performance at comparable costs.

7) Rugged and tough layout - EnerSys (Hawker) Cyclon batteries are better equipped to withstand rough and heavy usage due to their durable external construction and their pure lead interiors. Their support frames are rated UL 94V-0, which is a certain indication of their toughness and sturdiness. They are crafted in fire resistant metal casings; the batteries are also immune to sudden vibrations and motion. These features make Cyclon batteries particularly ideal for many external and outdoor uses.

Whatever your reserve power requirements may be, there's surely an EnerSys (Hawker) Cyclon battery (either in monobloc or single-cell variants) that will truly fit your needs. They're not only useful and longer-lasting, but they are durable and tough as well.
