By Vincent Aarodviss

Balloon which may be made of Mylar or rubber are one of the most popular party decors around. They may be floating with helium in them or just filled with regular air. Balloons decorations are very popular for house parties, birthday parties and even for weddings. Some balloons have writings in them others are just plain, but regardless of your preference, everybody loves balloons. There are even professional performers that make use of balloons as their tool in performing. They twist elongated balloons to imitate the shape of familiar objects, mostly animals. Appropriately, these performers are called twisters.

They are paid to entertain children and adults alike during fun events. The best of these professionals can make any shape you ask them. In the old days vintage twisters used to use only their own blowing power to inflate their balloons, today many still blow their own balloons but pumps are becoming more popular. There are two types of balloon modeling; single balloon modeling and multiple balloon modeling.

The designs created by twisters using a single balloon are usually shapes of animals Most twisters first master a common set of animals which are easy to make such as dogs, cats and giraffes. Using a single balloon may be tricky because of the risk of popping the whole design. The number and sizes of the design may also be more limited with single balloon modeling making the people more difficult to impress.

Multiple balloon modeling is what awe people about balloon modeling. Over the years professional twisters have innovated to make larger and more ambitious projects with balloon modeling. The term balloon sculpting is give to the art that twisters produce because many of the really good ones can actually be considered art in their way. Some twisters are not contented with knee-high animal shaped they create balloon decorations larger than an adult.

One twister even made an Optimus Prime model as tall as a person with balloons in Singapore. As long as the twister uses more than one balloon, it is called multiple balloon modeling. Some balloon sculpting use a platform to support very large designs but smaller designs are usually made of twisted balloons only. Twister performances usually use single balloon modeling and the big designs that use many balloons are usually showpieces.

Though the two types of balloon sculpting may seem similar, very different skill sets are required to pull off each successfully. Some twisters even design their own special equipment to make their creation unique from other twisters.
