Spectacular Personalized Gift Ideas for Him

By Lyndsey Kaplan

It seems like there are gift giving occasions all times of the year. Christmas, Hanukkah, birthdays, Valentines, the list goes on. There are so many occasions that sometimes it becomes difficult to think if presents to give. Clothing, concert tickets, nice dinners out are always the typical gift, but every once in a while it's nice to give something a little different. Luckily because of the social world we live in today, there are tons of resources to get personalized gift ideas for him or her for the special day. It's quite easy to search on the internet for ideas, gifts, and more.

This year my younger brother graduated from high school. As any student off to college, he received the usual graduation gift-a new laptop. Even though he originally wanted the fancy, sleek Macbook, he was still happy with the spiffy looking one he got. Funny to think that just two years after my high school graduation that laptops have changed so much. When I graduated high school my brother got me a special gift, so I needed to also find a personalized gift idea for him as well.

As a math major, it is no surprise that I'm not really the most creative person out there. Because of that, I needed a lot of time to figure out a nice gift for my brother on top of his laptop. To really get the juices flowing, I decided to do internet searches but also flip through magazines. My original plan was to get my brother clothing from his choice university, but my parents beat me to it and I needed another idea.

Unfortunately my father and I had to work on the day of my brother's graduation, but we were able to get off early to see his ceremony. Before we headed up to the school, my brother opened up his gifts. He of course got the laptop, and got a silly gift from me. I decided to order his gift from I Am A Stuffed Animal. Even though it was more of a gag gift than a serious one, he appreciated it none the less.

Even though it was hot, thankfully it did not rain on the day of my brother's graduation. The ceremony only lasted about an hour, but was still a classy and elegant one. My parents definitely got a little teary eyed as the seniors threw their hats up in the air. It was truly the ending of their time in the school district. With both of us in college now, their children were no longer young kids, but mature adults.
