Placing Gaming & Adventure Racing Hand-In-Hand

By Rob Sutter

When you're talking about adventure racing in general, you're talking about one of the most physically demanding activities in the world. This is the one which has people putting forth some of their greatest efforts, perhaps even working harder than they ever have before. This is something to consider but is it possible for gaming to be seen alongside it? Judging from what I have seen, I would like to think that these two subjects can find their way so that they can work alongside each other.

Sonic the Hedgehog may have been a character deeply rooted in speed at one point but that has slowly morphed over the last number of years. Nowadays, he has found himself exploring various parts of the world, all the while upholding a sense of flow as he would run fast. Sometimes he doesn't stop to take in the sights but that was never his style. As much as Sonic may be addicted to the feeling of exploration, there are others who can hold just as prominent a candle.

I believe that there are few series which have been able to gain as much attention as "Assassin's Creed" for its exploration. There are several areas in Europe which are able to be traversed through, whether you're talking about Rome, Venice, or what have you. The truth is that this game has many details spread throughout every location, which actually helps to make the lack of speed a positive feature. You actually have more time to appreciate the detail in the aesthetics.

I don't think that anyone can tell you that this series isn't worth checking out because there is still action to be seen in boatloads. It doesn't matter whether it's about adventure racing or combatting guards who have attracted your attention; the fun does not seem to stop so soon. This is fortunate for those who crave more substantial quests and want to make each one last. There is plenty of athleticism broad as well, which is an element to connect to events such as Spartan Race.

I believe that adventure racing is one of the greatest events to consider and it's hard for me to deny such a point. Obstacles are going to be seen in multiples and it is going to take various levels of work in order to traverse through each of them. Will you be able to do the same, though? I think that it's up to you to go about the best work possible and what has struck me about this type of racing is gaming, surprisingly, has many aspects which can be connected.
