Materials to prepare:

Container(size depends on the user, this is where the lip balm will be stored)

Petroleum jelly

Old lipstick(choose a color that you like)

Food flavoring of your choice

Process:

1.Prepare a small amount of petroleum jelly and place it in a microwaveable container using a spoon or any other material you can make use(make sure to get your preferred amount of petroleum jelly depending on the amount of lip balm you wish to make).

2. Prepare the microwave oven and place the microwaveable container inside. You have to wait until the petroleum jelly turns into a liquid.

3. Add your old lipstick to the fluid petroleum jelly. Amount of lipstick to be added depends on how light you want your lip balm to turn out.

4. After adding the lipstick into the fluid petroleum jelly, you can put back the petroleum jelly and lipstick mixture in the microwave for a minute or until the lipstick completely melts. When the lipstick has melted, take the mixture from the microwave and continuously stir until the lipstick completely mixes or combines with the petroleum jelly.

5. You have the option to add drops of food coloring of your choice. There are a lot of food coloring available to make use of, this includes vanilla, mint, strawberry, chocolate, orange and lemon. If you decide to add food coloring make sure to mix it well into the mixture. If you don't want to add food coloring, you can just skip this step.

6. If you notices that the mixture has started to harden, you can place it back into the microwave to reheat it and pour it into the container once it is liquid again. Remember to ualways use an oven glove when trying to hold the container especially if it comes right out of the oven since it is hot.

7. Close the container tightly. You have the option if you want to just leave your lip balm to harden at room temperature or put it in a refrigerator. If you want it to harden faster, put it in a refrigerator and after 20 minutes, you lip balm will be ready to use. But if you leave it to harden at room temperature, it may take about one hour for your lip balm to harden.

8. If you feel that your mixture has already harden, you can now try to test and use it.
