We were scared for my mother's safety after she fell down and was unable to get back up until a neighbor found her several hours later, so we knew we couldn't let her stay in her own home all by herself anymore, so we began looking into what type of senior housing Phoenix could offer us. At first my mother did not appreciate the suggestion, but my siblings and I all persuaded her with assurances that she would not be going very far away and we would still visit her all the time.
Once she was in agreement with us that moving was the best choice for her, we listed her house for sale and began looking into what senior housing Phoenix residents really enjoy. We all started asking around to neighbors and co-workers to see if any of them knew of a truly nice place where we could move Mom into that would still give her some independence but give her the help and care that she needed.
Before long, my brother called and told me that he had found a place that looked awesome and asked me to look at the website to see if I thought it would be fitting for Mom. I got on the computer and looked up the website and straight away I was impressed with what I saw and as I read all of the information about this senior community, I totally agreed with my brother that this would be a great place for our mother.
The thing that I was so impressed with was that the senior community would help my mother with what she needed while she was still mostly independent, but they would then transition into something like an assisted living community as she needed more care. Even some of her meals would be included in the process, which would allow her to socialize with her peers and make some new friends, which was nice since she hadn't been out much since her oldest friend had passed away the year before.
We let Mom know what we thought about this place and let her read more about it before arranging a tour a couple days later which would let her get a better sense of things. When we went to take a look at the place, mom immediately fell in love with it and decided to move in as soon as possible, and my siblings and I were all convinced that we had found the best assisted living Phoenix had to offer!
