6 Reasons People Fall In Love With North Carolina Ragdoll Kittens

By Kevin Wallace

Cat people usually aren't as picky as dog lovers when it comes to the feline breeds they prefer. Most of them love cats in general, but tend to make their favorites household pets. If you are a cat lover looking for a kitten to adopt, you should check out North Carolina Ragdoll kittens. They are people loving and gorgeous.

There are a lot of preconceived notions about cats. One of them is that they are standoffish and spend most of their time napping. This might be true for a lot of breeds, but not the Ragdolls. Ragdolls love people. They crave attention and quickly learn to fit into a home with an existing feline population. It is not unusual for Ragdolls to follow their owners from room to room in order to avoid isolation.

Ragdolls have great personalities. Most of them are full of fun and love to play. They can be very frisky, especially as kittens. These cats notice everything and will turn household fixtures and bric-a-brac into toys if the owners aren't paying attention. Ragdolls are very gentle, laid back animals even with all their energy and boisterous play.

These are extremely intelligent cats. Many people believe that cats can't learn to do the same kinds of tricks that dogs do. This isn't true of Ragdolls. A lot of owners report that their family pet loves playing fetch, can rollover on command, and will shake hands with strangers. Not all cats in this breed have the same affinity for showing off as others. If you want to try your hand at Ragdoll training, experts say there is no difference between training Ragdolls and dogs.

If you have kids, this is a great pet choice. Ragdolls will let children pick them up, dress them, and generally play as long and hard as they will without complaint. This is not the kind of pet you have to worry about snapping or scratching. You may have to watch out for the cat however. These felines don't vocalize much. They can be in trouble without anyone noticing.

These are not delicate cats, which is one reason they're a good fit for families with kids. Ragdolls are bigger than almost every other breed. At full maturity a male Ragdoll will easily top twenty pounds. That makes them the size of small dogs. They will shed, but not as much as you might expect from a long haired animal. Their heavy coats do need brushing every few days to keep the fur from matting.

Aside from their great personalities and affectionate, gentle nature, Ragdolls are gorgeous to look at. If you to add a beautiful cat to your household, you will have trouble finding one more attractive than these blue eyed stunners. Their fur is long and silky, and most Ragdolls walk with the kind of confidence that comes from knowing what a striking presence they make.

If you are looking for a kitten with personality, looks, and a gentle nature, you won't go wrong with a Ragdoll. Your cat will probably be with you for a long time. Before you make a commitment to any animal, you need to carefully consider your ability to care for it.
