A Few Things You Should Know About White Pomeranian Dogs

By Pamela Lee

Pomeranian dogs are small, but bold and simply adorable. They come in various lovely colors, including red, black, blue, brown and different color combinations. Nevertheless, the rarest and the most beautiful are certainly those white Pomeranian puppies, with their dark eyes and snowy white, fluffy hair. There are really hard to breed successfully, and you need to know some things before choosing your puppy.

Finding a good breeder is a must. Breeding high quality white Poms is hard, and it is a little bit hard to find out if particular puppy will actually stay perfectly white, or he will get shades when he grows up. This can be determined when the puppy is at least eight weeks old, and this is probably the time when you will want to get him.

You should check the area behind the ear first. All hair should be perfectly white everywhere, and if there is a shade of a different color there, this puppy won't stay the same when he grows up. You have to be aware of the fact that their color changes in time, and darker puppies will probably become slightly lighter, while the lighter ones will get a little bit darker shade of their color.

Of course, you want to have perfectly white dog. Another thing you should check is the color of his eye rims, paw pads, nose and lips. Only black is allowed here. His eyes should be almond shaped, very dark brown or black. It's interesting, but whites with slight color shades usually have lighter eye rims and noses, and even their eyes will be little lighter.

As with any other breed, finding a good, respectable and dependable breeder is a must. You want your new pet to be perfectly healthy and to behave appropriately as well. If you take a quick look at his parents, you will be able to see some characteristics you might find appealing. Although, physical characteristics will be probably more likely inherited than behavior.

When it comes to Pomeranian dogs, especially when it comes to puppies, it sounds strange to try to train them right away. Nevertheless, it is something you should do. Toy dogs tend to become sort of spoiled, they often bark with no reason or behave bossy, if you don't train them properly. Set some basic rules and stick to those rules, Pom is clever enough to learn anything, if he wants.

Pomeranian dogs are really fragile, especially puppies. They are so small and helpless, and you have to supervise them all the time. They might seriously hurt themselves if they fall from the sofa, for example. Playing with toddlers is not a very good idea, or with smaller children. Grown up dogs are not so sensitive, but this breed should still have responsible company.

Grooming is not complicated, but regular brushing is a must. Avoid bathing, dry shampooing is much better for them. Canine wipes make great alternative to cleaning paws or face with water. Regular face wiping will prevent forming of unappealing tear stains. They have sensitive eyes and you might buy some good quality tear drops for your puppy right away. Enjoy with your new adorable pet.
