The fact that some individuals have no garden does not mean that they cannot have plants of their own. It is possible to carry out this activity in a container provided all the conditions required will be availed. Some indoor settings are decorated using indoor plants. There are important things that those who would like consider planting black bamboo plants in pots should know.

For the black bamboo to thrive, a lot of effort has to be put into it. Watering is a must and should always be done. The most appropriate time to carry it out is when there is no too much heat to reduce cases of the water evaporating. It should also be carried out using a special type of container perforated on the base to reduce the force of water coming out which may result to uprooting the plant.

When the plant is in its young age, the stem is mostly weak and care support have to be provided. This is achieved through placing some stones or pebbles on its base to support the stem. A stick may also be used to offer support. It is pinned next to the stem and the plant tied on it using some strings and made to grow in the desired position.

Light is needed by almost all types of plants. The black bamboo is no exception and it has to be provided with enough of it. The pot containing it should be placed in an area with enough sunlight. The place should only allow for enough of it since when availed in excess may result to a lot of heat which may dry the plant.

There are certain types of diseases and pesticides that are known to infest black bamboos. The correct insecticides and pesticides should be applied on them in case there are signs of infestation. Rinsing the leaves with water is also likely to wash away small insects such as spiders and aphids.

It will reach a point when the blank bamboo will grow to a size that can no longer be supported by the pot. This calls in for re-potting or replanting it on a garden. This is a tricky procedure as it is likely to dry up if care is not taken. It should be uprooted with a lump of soil to ensure that the roots are not destroyed. Watering must be carried out in their new location to ensure continuity of growth.

Weeds are likely to grow alongside the black bamboo inside the port. They result to competition of minerals needed for growth. They are also likely to bring some diseases and pest with them. Weeding is carried out to remove them. They should be uprooted with care to ensure that they do not affect the main plant.

Pruning is carried out whenever there is excess growth of leaves and stems. The weak one should be the ones to be pruned. It is undertaken by cutting them off. Care should also be taken to ensure that the main stems or healthy leaves are not affected in any way.
