Commercial Cleaning Tips To Clean School During Summer Break

By Rhea Frazier

For those who are working as custodial workers, the summer break might be the busiest as well as the most important time for them. They have to clean a school so that they are thoroughly prepared for when the kids come back. If you wish to simplify the commercial cleaning process, then you better follow tips for that. Here are some of the tips that you can use for the said process.

The first thing you have to take into consideration is the place on which you will be carrying out your project. It is important that you write out the plan so that you do not forget anything important. For the plan, it is very important that you write in detail who will be assigned to a certain project as well as when it should be scheduled.

There is a need for you to address various floor care specifics. You should keep an eye on the floor since it is the most beat up part of the school, considering how kids will walk on it and run on it all day. When doing floor care, divide the school into those areas that require stripping and refinishing, those that require to only be scrubbed, and those that require other forms of care.

Another tip has something to do with closet maintenance. You have to add to your plan the overhaul of the janitorial closet so that you can identify those chemicals and other agents which were not used within the last six months or longer. Once you identify them, discard them properly. Chemicals should not be stored for more than one year.

Remember to go green. This is the social responsibility of the school. It will also be beneficial to the school if it transitions from chemical-based process to a green strategy. The summer months are definitely the best time to do the transition. If you do the transition, better go through special training for that.

You should then learn how to evaluate the equipment you are using for the house. It is important for you to solve any equipment issues you encounter. Check up on those equipment that just needs maintenance, those that are still running, and those that must be replaced. Inform the property custodian for the latter.

It is not only the equipment you use to clean the school that requires evaluation. You also need to evaluate the condition of the furniture around the school. It might be in the offices or in classrooms. You have to flag those furniture in the offices or in the classroom that must be repaired or replaced.

There is also the cleaning protocol. You have to evaluate the protocol to ensure that it is efficient. You will also have to evaluate whether the said protocol is cost-effective or not. If it is not efficient nor cost-effective, then it is important to modify the protocol. To do the evaluations properly, use workloading programs for it.

The lighting system is also a part of the things you will be taking care of. You have to replace your light bulbs. The traditional light bulbs should be replaced with the low-voltage bulbs. The latter is good because it uses less energy. More than that, it can last for as long as one decade.
