What to do when someone is experiencing heat exhaustion. Move the person to a cool place, lie then down, and keep the feet slightly raise. Let them drink a glass of water, you may use a rehydration or sports drink as an alternative when water is not available. Cool down their skin by spraying or damping it with cool water or by fanning them.

Prevention. There are simple steps that you can do to prevent this. When the weather condition is humid or hot, keep them indoors. When they need to be outside, give them plenty of fresh water and put them in a shaded place. A tip would be to put some ice cubes to their water, to keep it cool. Bathe them or have them play in water.

For youngsters. Grownups ought to recollect that children might not have thought that they are getting themselves overheated. For the dog to survive, bring them to a cool place and make them drink small amounts of cool but not cold water. You may also wrap them in wet towels.
