Why Choose One Of The Double Doodle Puppies For Sale

By Donna Davis

Buying a purebred dog does not ensure you get what you're looking for. This is true also when looking to buy one of the double doodle puppies for sale. You should be cautious and examine all considerations. True, the breed is pretty much obedient and lovable, meaning they will be a good pet. But, you must investigate the characteristics and any problems you may face in owning any puppy. Make sure you are ready to take on a puppy.

The mix of a Goldendoodle and a Labradoodle, bred together, produces the double doodle, which is not a pure breed. The Goldendoodle is a mixture of a poodle and a golden retriever. The Labradoodle is a mix of a Labrador Retriever and a poodle. It has a number of names that describe the same sweet dog.

The mix that is combined in the breed is not always between a 50% purebred cross. It may be 1/4 between two and 1/2 another. The temperament of the dog varies with the percentage of each breed, based on that breeds characteristics. So, it is advisable to know the mix and the traits of the predominant breed in the mix.

One of the most important things in choosing is its temperament. The puppy, however, does not have a fully developed temperament. The best way to determine it is to examine that of its parents. A visual inspection of both parents, where possible, is the best way to determine if your puppy may be acceptable.

Since some of the traits of the breeds used to parent this dog, it is a good idea to understand what they are and which breed is predominant in the parentage. Poodles and Labradors require lots of attention. If you aren't willing to give this amount of attention, don't choose this dog. In either case, choose one with a higher concentration of Golden Retriever.

Another trait that might make this breed not very good with children is that of the poodle. Poodles demand individualized attention, and with children can often see them as competing litter mates, and will bite and wrestle with them. Also, the Labradoodle and the Poodle both are demanding of attention, and if children interfere with giving that attention, their constant demand and yapping can get annoying.

Some unscrupulous dog breeders will misrepresent the facts. You must be careful of this. They will sometimes be untruthful about the heritage of the dog you are considering, and the conditions of breeding and raising it. When a single breed becomes popular, these breeders with be untruthful about these things for profit reasons. They may produce a puppy mill for these breeds. If you are looking at one, be sure and check these things out.

Rarely is a double doodle found in a rescue shelter, where people turn their dogs in if they decide not to keep them. But this dog rarely faces that fate, as they are so desirable. When one is turned in to the shelter, usually it results from someone not be entirely truthful about what is involved. Sometimes, however, a person just doesn't need a dog.
