By Steven Hamilton

A ragdoll is a breed of at that is affectionate, and they are best known for their long furs and sparkling blue eyes. These felines usually like to play with kids, since the young ones can carry them in their arms. They can easily adapt to any household that offers them shelter.

Ann Baker managed to develop this breed in the early 1960 from her pure white feline called Josephine that played the role of the mother, her seal mitted cat called Daddy Warbucks, and her solid black feline called Blackie. Her seal mitted was bred with the daughters of Josephine. Thus, they gave birth to the breed of Ragdolls, and as their popularity increases, the demand for TICA ragdoll breeders increased.

This feline is commonly known for their laid back, happy, and loving disposition, and their resemblance to a stuffed toy is the main highlight why kids would love to cuddle them. A Ragdoll breed and a dog are most of the times compared to each other, due to the intelligence and the warmth they both have. Kids would surely enjoy the their time with this cat, since their owners can dress them up in accordance to their taste.

The texture of their fur is closely similar to that of a rabbit, and a minimal amount of shedding only happens in fall and spring. This breed is also gifted with a sparkling blue eye that comes in three patterns, namely, mitted, bicolour, or colour point, and their fur colours is distinguished as follows, red, cream, cinnamon, lilac, chocolate, blue, and seal that comes in different variations. Colour point Ragdolls are easily distinguished, since their coat does not have any white shade on it.

The mitted ones looks like these cats are wearing gauntlets every second due to their fore foot covered in white. A bicolor is characterized by their white patches found on the cat back. They take up to four years to reach maturity, and a male weighs up to 7 to 9 kilograms, considering a female only weighs up to 5 to 7 kilograms.

The feline eyes are filled with love and devotion that brings out the sweet character within them, and soft curves make them stand from the rest of the other breeds. A huge volume of effort is necessary to main the fluffy of their coats, so a weekly or frequently scheduled grooming is advisable to lessen the chances of entanglement and dead hairs. Their hairs on their armpit becomes more entangled as their shedding period draws near.

The International Cat Association, or TICA, gives guidance to humans fond of cats by providing them with licensed breeders that sees to it that their feline health and needs is being attended to. The group equips their trainers with efficient discipline and knowledge in this field and for them to earn the public trust. The knowledge imparted to them could benefit an owner, since they can provide guidance and assistance in taking care of their cats.

Having to discipline a Ragdoll would flow fluently with the trainers around to guide and assist the humans. They are guided the code of ethics constructed by TICA. A guilty violator would be dismissed from their posts as a breeder, so while knowing this, the owner is at ease.

Clients can gain access to the trainers near their area by checking TICA official website. Independent breeders and the public can also utilize the website as a ground for selling their products or advertising their services, considering they gain the approval of the organization. The customer is reassured that they would get reliable and efficient services, since TICA is known to be a large group and they are still growing in numbers.
